Lindsay Lohan is a Hollywood celebrity. American actress, model, fashion designer and pop singer-songwriter.
Her pretty popular name has been bouncing back and forth in the spotlight over the years. This time, the intensity of her popularity has doubled after having been sentenced to 90 days in Jail and 90 days "in-patient rehab" right after finishing jail time.

The break down for her 90 days jail time is :

30 days in Jail for her reckless driving case

30 days in jail for her first DUI (Driving Under the Influence - of drugs or alcohol) case consecutive

30 days in jail in the second DUI case consecutive.
Judge Marsha Revel, a Beverly Hills judge ruled out the jail sentence after Lindsay violated the terms of her probation for her 2007 DUI conviction for failing to attend court-ordered alcohol education classes.

In the early stage of the court procedure, Lindsay was spotted to be kind of confident and later somewhat bored from the long process and finally getting too emotional after receiving the court decision. Her middle fingernail didn’t even have the chance to hide from the media. The camera that surrounded the courtroom were keen enough to document the fine prints on her fingernail. That profane message right there gave an extra reason for the media to celebrate. |
Dr. Kaushal Sharma was ordered by the judge to interview the defendant a few days before she will go to jail because after two days upon release, Lindsay was oreded to do an in-patient 90 day substance abuse program. Dr. sharma has to write a review and report to the program to give the type of program that would best benefit Lindsay.
The judge imposed such punishment because Lindsay violated the terms of her probation. She was on probation but she didn't take it very seriously. She had so many excuses in the past. The judge was tired of reading them so much so that they sound like she only wanted to go to the classes when she feels like going. She was ordered to attend the classes once a week which is fair enough but she still violated that deal.
Lindsay was given a chance to explain her side. In her explanation she said she was not missing the classes for pleasure, she was not on vacation or hanging out with friends or she didn't take it as a joke but she missed the classes because she was working with children.
Well, the bottom line is, she broke the law so she has to face the consequences of her actions. If it's a law, then it's a law and there is no exception to that rule no matter who you are.
