After years of Health Care Reform battle, President Obama has finally pushed a legislation into place. On March 23, 2010, the president has signed a sweeping reform bill to overhaul the nation's health care system .
After signing the bill, the president assured the people that the health care bill he signed will fix every problem in America's health care system and it does represents the toughest insurance reform in history and that it represents a major step forward towards giving americans a sense of security when it comes to their health.
The bill will provide coverage to millions of Americans who currently lack health care insurance. It will require American people to get a health care insurance coverage, would add 16 million people to the medical roll, subsidizes private coverage for low and middle-income americans. It will increase the fine for large companies who refuses to provide health coverage for their employees, banning companies from such recent practices of denying pre-existing health conditions.
According to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, this bill also increases the cost of the overall cost of the health care reform legislation to $940 billion over the next 10 years, $ 65 billion more than the original health care bill.
The law will cost the government about $938 billion over 10 years, according to the , which has also estimated that it will reduce the federal deficit by $138 billion over a decade.
