| U.S.-born al-Qaida member addresses U.S. economy |
Adam Gadahn is an American member of Al-Qaida. He was born in the U.S. and grew up in Los Angeles. The FBI says Gadahn moved to Pakistan in 1998 and attended an al-Qaida training camp six years later, serving as a translator and consultant.
In a video clip posted at the SITE Intelligence Group, a Washington-based monitor of militant Web sites, Gadahn pointed to the U.S. economic crisis as proof that the "enemies" of Islam face defeat. He is calling on Pakistanis to put aside differences and establish an Islamic state. He also pointed out that the Pakistani government is responsible for the deaths of more Muslims than the American "crusaders."
