Skype Group Video Calling is a cool way of talking face to face with friends, family and business associates on the computer or computer T.V.
Unlike Free Video Calling, Group Video Calling will only be available to users who are on a premium plan for personal or business use.
The free Skype to Skype video calling allows user to Video call (Make Skype video calls with our low cost webcams) one person only and Voice call to unlimited number of users. Video Conferencing is disabled in Free Video Calling.
If the user needs to video call multiple people then she has to avail the paid version of video calling called Group Video Calling.
To avail group video calling, at least one person needs to sign up for a Skype Premium plan or a group video subscription from Skype Manager. All the other members of that particular video call doesn't need to have a premium account to use the feature.
The skype subscriber can video call up to 10 people from his/her contacts. For best quality, video calling up to five people is recommended.
It is also recommend to use a high-speed broadband connection of 4 Mbps down/512 kpbs up and a computer with a Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHz processor to get the best video calling quality. The minimum you'll need is a high-speed broadband connection of 512 kbps down/128 kpgs up and a computer with a 1 GHz processor.
People with Skype video-enabled mobiles are currently able to join group video calls via voice only.
For everyone on the call to see video, each person needs:
- a webcam
- a broadband connection
- download Skype 5.0 or higher or Skype business version
