Taxi, an independent A&R Company based in Calabasas California United States. It was founded by music veteran Michael Laskow in 1992 with the intent of helping songwriters, artists, bands, and composers get their music heard by record labels, music publishers, and supervisors of film/TV projects.
Taxi employs A&R team, a line up of industry professionals who are experts in a specific genre of music.
Interested musicians submit their songs to Taxi and and Taxi A&R team listen to every song submitted and decides whether or not the song(s) are exactly what the industry listing is requesting. Many of the submissions are critiqued, and returned to the member with written feedback.
Taxi has over 10,000 members in all 50 States and in over 90 countries. Updated list of requests for music and artists from companies within the music, film, and television industries and sent to all members every two weeks.
Submissions are accepted from amateur or professional singers, songwriters or singer-songwriters.

The types of companies that run listings with Taxi are :
- Major record labels.
- Major publishers.
- Small and mid-size publisher with verifiable cuts on nationally released and/or charted products
- Music supervisors with credits/tracks in nationally released films or TV shows.
- Independent record labels that have nationally released and distributed, or charted product.
- Producers who have credits on nationally released and distributed, and/or charted material.
- Nationally distributed production music library companies with song placements in major films, TV shows or commercials.
- Managers with major label affiliations.
If you want to submit your music to these companies, you have to sign up for a yearly subscription via the Taxi.com website.
When you become a TAXI member, you will be informed about the submission opportunities availalbe. You can check on the list of "Songs Needed" if your music genre matches any of those listings then you can start submitting your songs. These listings are updated on the 1st and 15th of every month, so you have to check back more often to get the most recent listing. If you'd like free updates of these listings you have to sign for an email alert.
There is a $5.00 charge (aside from the yearly subscription) for every song submitted.
